An Important Message for Zoolz Home Users

Every so often in business, we find ourselves at an impasse in which we must make a decision that affects customers. 

Unfortunately at Zoolz, we have reached such a moment. 

Effective immediately, we will be discontinuing our direct-to-consumer cloud backup service, Zoolz Home.  

This decision wasn’t an easy one to make. Providing cloud backup to any type of user, home or business, was the service model we always intended to have since Zoolz first entered the cloud backup industry 15 years ago. However, this year we faced unprecedented challenges along with the rest of the world, and we came to the realisation that the likes of Microsoft, Google and Apple were better positioned to offer customers business-to-consumer solutions. Zoolz has always been a business solution first, and it’s because of this that we have taken the decision to focus 100% of our resources and technology on becoming the market-leader in cloud backup for organizations.

To our home users: We understand what a huge inconvenience this announcement is and we will do everything we can to assist you in retrieving your data before the service termination date. All users have until October 15th to restore their data from the Zoolz cloud. Users who purchased a plan within the last 30 days will receive a full refund, and users who purchased annual plans within the last 12 months will receive a partial refund. All refunds will be issued within 30 days. 

We know migrating your data to another service can be tedious and time-consuming; and, we want to help ease this transition as much as possible. All Zoolz Home users will be able to upgrade their account to Zoolz Business with 90% off. This discount will apply to the entirety of your subscription, NOT just the first year. This discount is exclusive only to Home users wishing to convert their Home plans to Business. 

We’ve also assigned a team of retrieval and account closures/migration specialists to help Zoolz Home users either upgrade their accounts or restore their data. They can be reached by emailing restore@zoolz.com for data retrieval and switch@zoolz.com for switching your plan to business. 

We want to thank you for being supportive and sharing in our dream to make cloud backup accessible to everyone. While we’re excited and looking forward to what’s coming for Zoolz Business, we know there were sacrifices we had to make in order to do so. We cannot apologize enough and we’re here to help as our consumer users transition their accounts.
